Purpose of the Faculty Development Institute (FDI) Leo-Lion Scholarship
Faculty Development Institutes provide in-person training opportunities to enhance the development of training skills to support club, zone, district, local and multiple district level training.
The purpose of the Faculty Development Institute (FDI) Leo-Lion Scholarship is to reduce the financial barriers faced by Leo-Lions seeking training through the provision of reimbursable funds.
Leo-Lion scholarship recipients are expected to fulfill all expectations of the Faculty Development Institute program in addition to the expectations of the scholarship program.
Applicant Qualifications

Each applicant should have interest in or experience with training, presenting or coordinating large-scale events. Leo-Lions who have held an officer position at the club, district or multiple district level within Leos or Lions in addition to training experience are preferred.

Leo-Lion members must not have attended a local or international FDI within the last five years.

Applicants must be prepared to attend all required classroom sessions and scheduled meals.

FDI attendees must be capable of understanding and participating in the language of instruction at their institute.

Leo-Lions must submit this scholarship application by the same deadline date stated on the Faculty Development Institute application for consideration of a scholarship award. This does not guarantee participation in any FDI program.

Applicants must also submit a Faculty Development Institute application to their constitutional area’s international FDI by the stated application due date. Check the Lions International website for the 2024-2025 FDI schedule.
Application Due Date
Submission of this scholarship application must be completed by the same due date stated on the Faculty Development Institute application.
The Faculty Development Institute applications must be submitted separately to institutes@lionsclubs.org. If email submission is not an option, submit via fax to 630-706-9010.
Upon submission of this scholarship application, senders will receive an automatic reply that will serve as a receipt of the application.
Selection Process
All FDI scholarship applicants will be notified of selection status via the email address provided on this application form no more than five weeks after the Faculty Development Institute application due date.
